This is why I advise clients not to train their staff to facilitate ideations. Training takes time and money, and there’s no guarantee trained staff will be good facilitators. Instead, focus your energy on providing project leaders with an awareness of innovation tools across the lifecycle of a project, supported by regular coaching. That way, staff build the right innovation skills while getting the job done. More importantly, your innovations land in the market and start generating revenue.
So if you’re thinking of training staff to ideate - don’t! If you need ideation workshops, you're better off hiring an external expert.
